Fiona R Hutchison brings together a body of work that shows the creative potential of contemporary woven tapestry and stitched paper, exploring her continuing fascination with the Sea. Currents, tides, whirlpools and maelstrom, the powerful ebb and flow of water are all reflected in this exhibition. Rather than a literal translation or representation of the sea, the work embodies something remembered, a metaphor for our lives. Inspired by the sea and the movement of water. Hutchison explores the sculptural qualities of contemporary Tapestry, Paper and Stitch, experimenting with the possibilities of a crossover between creative disciplines.
