Drawing Room Session at the Gallery of Modern Art
The second Thursday of the month the Gallery of Modern Art hosts a Drawing Room Session. This is a creative workshop lead by an artist in response to a work from the gallery collection or current exhibition. These workshops are free.
To book a place contact the Scottish National Galleries Education Dept on 0131 624 6410 or via education@nationalgalleries.org.
I recently led a session inspired by the drawings of Louis Bourgeois. Looking at a series of drawing of hands (10 AM is when you come to me) a grid of drawing that show the hands of Bourgeouis and her creative asistent Jerry. (her asistant for over 30 years)
In this workshop we used our own hands as a template and created a range of works using drawing, collage and stitch on hand made and recycled paper, bringing them together to creat our own grid of drawing.
