Think Plastic: Materials and Making
This project brought together a group of artists and scientists from the Royal Botanic Garden and the University of Edinburgh to explore the creative potential of working with sustainable, recyclable and environmentally responsible plastics.
Having explored several forms of single use and recycled plastic I chose to work with plastic bailing tape, a hard and somewhat unforgiving material. A plentiful supply was provided by my local shops and supermarkets and through a series of experiments and sampling I began to discover its beauty and potential as a creative medium.
